What Is Reiki?

Many cultures since ancient times have had both the knowledge and the wisdom to understand that an unseen energy flows through all living things, and is directly connected to health. Reiki is a Japanese word for a natural healing system discovered in the 1800's by a Japanese man called Mikao Usui. The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words - Rei which means "Gods Wisdom or Higher Power"- this is the wisdom that comes from God or the Higher Self. Ki is the Japanese word for "life force energy." In other cultures it is called Chi, or Prana. Anything that is living has life force circulating through it. In Reiki the God-consciousness guides the life force called Ki. Therefore, Reiki is 'spiritually guided life force energy.'
